About Elizabeth

Elizabeth represents individuals and companies in employment disputes. Elizabeth's unique combination of litigation experience — which includes representation of companies, individuals, and the U.S. government -- enables her to bring a balanced perspective and multi-faceted strategic thinking to her clients.  Elizabeth focuses her individual representation practice on high-level employees or matters with potential regulatory complications. She also routinely advises companies on the full range of employment laws, including Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the National Labor Relations Act, state and federal wage and hour laws, and whistleblower laws. Elizabeth also maintains an active internal investigations practice with a focus on helping companies navigate the many complexities of time-sensitive and high-stakes workplace investigations. She also represents individuals and companies in restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes.

Prior to joining Lee Meier, Elizabeth was a Partner at McGuireWoods LLP, one of the leading management-side law firms in the United States. Before her eight years at McGuireWoods, Elizabeth served as a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice during President Obama’s second term. Elizabeth began her legal career with two federal clerkships, one at the appellate level for Chief Judge Edward E. Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and one at the district court level for Judge Orinda D. Evans of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Elizabeth has been recognized as a “Ones to Watch” lawyer by Best Lawyers in America for Labor and Employment Law - Management (2022-2025) and Litigation - Labor and Employment (2025). She was also named to “Legal Elite” in Labor/Employment Law by Virginia Business.  In addition, Elizabeth was recognized as one of the “40 Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40” by the National LGBT Bar Association in 2020.

Elizabeth is an active member of the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia, the Virginia Equality Bar Association, and the National LGBT Bar. She was a 2023 Fellow for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), has served as an LCLD mentor for law students and young lawyers, and over the years has volunteered her time to many social justice organizations.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her 8-year-old twins, Lincoln and Crosby. She is also an avid sports fan -- and a complete maniac when it comes to Duke basketball (with apologies to the rest of college basketball fandom).
